Mentor Training

today was the day of the mentoring training, we learned about inquiries. an inquiry is a question that is very open ended and can should be answered structurally.
you start off with tuning into the problem, this means understanding the basic information that we have on the problem and getting to like it.
next we would find out about the information through research using the internet, books, and other sources.
after that the information that has been collected has to be sorted out it has to be filtered out and the useless information will be ignored and the useful ones will be put into account.
the important thing is to take action and do something from your inquiry. for example if it is about finding out about organic foods you may end up setting up a promotional stand at your school at recess.
reflecting on your action is also very important. you need to analyze what you have done and look at any changes that can be done.
through the reflection you can go further and take additional actions on larger scale.

i found out about inquiries. they are not only for finding out the answer to the initial question. they are also used to help us to develop life skills, not only the mentored but also the mentor themselves. the mentor can develop skills through assisting the child; skills like team-working and myriad others. the child on the other hand will be able to develop their independent learning skills. this is because they will be inquiring about a topic of which they enjoy and want to learn more about. thus making them have the will to research further.

our group came up with many different ideas about what an inquiry is. we brought together everybody's ideas and made a sensible guess towards what exactly do we think an inquiry should be and how it should be like. we came up with the order and structure of an inquiry; thus helping us to put one into action.
